I recently worked on a client who lives in California, who has spinal stenosis.
Her condition was so serious that her doctor told her she could end up in the ER at any moment if her spine collapsed, which, if that happened, would likely also burst her bladder. Oh my.
Now, before I continue, let me say that I believe ALL Reiki Masters, have the ability to bring the energy through them in everything that they do---unless they don't want to do that or don't believe they can.
Reiki is involved, to some degree, in my intuitive readings and healing work because I set the intention that Reiki automatically flow whenever it is appropriate for the person I am working with to receive it.
Since the Reiki energy is uniquely self-intelligent, as well as governed by powerful Reiki guides, the energy goes where it needs to go. My job is to set the purpose and intention and notice what happens from a state of compassionate neutrality.
The goal of a healer is to achieve a state of inner harmony, keep the logical mind out of the way and trust what shows up in the moment.
Unlike most practitioners, I do not consciously use or direct the Reiki symbols, neither do I visualize or draw the Hon-Sha-Ze-Sho-Nen symbol which is what Reiki Level 2 practitioners and Reiki Masters are taught to do to initiate a remote healing session. (The symbol allows the practitioner to transcend time and space.)
Instead, I work completely intuitively, knowing that the Reiki energy will deploy as needed in whatever way is optimum for the client.
As a result of letting go of the need to control a specific outcome, I witness results that are more powerful than anything I ever did when my method was more exacting and precise.
I've learned that the key is not getting in the way of the Reiki energy by micro-managing it, and trusting myself implicitly.
Which brings me back to the client with the stenosis issue.
The client said the stenosis was so painful that she could not stand for very long, because her pain level on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being excruciating, was usually at an 8.
I began the session by calling in my own Spirit team of Reiki guides, angels and other higher beings (I teach the specifics of this in my Reiki trainings).
I taught my client how to call in their own Spirit team.
Once our spiritual teams had assembled, the healing session began. I visualized my client health and happy and strong, while feeling gratitude and appreciation for whatever outcome would be delivered.
I watched as changes began to occur. I often see a lot of shifts, sometimes they are subtle, but something always happens, as it did this time.
In her case, I saw a flurry of energies travel up, down and around her spine.
After 3 minutes of this, the client said her pain was down to a 5
I continued to work on her for another 3 minutes, trusting my intuitive impulses and watching the energy as it did whatever it needed to do. After a few more minutes of this, she said her pain was down to a 2.
I ended the session telling my client to contact me if she needed a follow up session.
My intention is that the healing is complete the first time, but if not, then another session can be arranged.
A few days later, I happened to see the client's daughter (who is also a client) at the Sedona store after I finished teaching a class. I asked her how her mom was doing.
She said her mother's back pain was gone!
Here are some thoughts to ponder about healing.
Yes, I believe practicing Reiki on a regular basis, is one of the best ways to awaken our Higher Self while we heal ourselves and help others do the same.
The energy is always present, running in the background ready to be called forth in an instant for the highest good of everyone around us.
Life doesn't get better than that!

Reiki is a spiritual healing art with its roots in Japanese origin. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”. Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice. It is not massage nor is it based on belief or suggestion. It is a subtle and effective form of energy work using spiritually guided life force energy.
Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. Reiki Practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves and help others. It is believed that a person’s “ki” or energy should be strong and free flowing. When this is true, a person’s body and mind is in a positive state of health. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance.
A Reiki session can help ease tension and stress and can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels – physical, mental, and emotional. A session is pleasant and relaxing and is often utilized for one’s personal wellness.

I have studied many different forms of spiritual healing over the past 25 years, and I always come back to Reiki.
It remains the safest, simplest and most profound way to activate someone's self healing abilities.
What I especially appreciate, is that unlike other healing systems, Reiki can never be misused or create problems for either the healer or the Reiki recipient.
Other modalities can have hidden problems, incongruence and agendas. Which is the reason why some healers end up getting sick or even hurting other people.
That's because our minds are more powerful than we know, and so it is that we can affect someone else for good or ill.
Our ignorance and lack of understanding can cripple us. Especially if the healing system we employ is not truly solid, based in unconditional love and respectful of free will and the laws of the Universe.
Your level of consciousness, matters!
With all that said, the truth is...
You were born to be a healer.
Everyone has the innate ability to heal themselves and assist others.
While you cannot make someone heal, since all healing is in truth self-healing, a Reiki practitioner can amplify and strengthen someone's ability to heal themselves.
Reiki is pure, universal unconditional Love in motion. A Reiki healer learns to become a clear and open conduit for the energy.
An activator and receiver of miracles.
What you do for others is a reflection of who YOU are and always, always comes back to you.
Sometimes in an unexpected way.
I gave a reading yesterday to a new client. When I asked her how she had found me, she mentioned she had read a testimonial I had recently written for one of my students, Lisa Zara (yay, Lisa--so proud of you!) at the Sedona store.
My client told me that she had read and re-read my words over and over and felt a powerful connection to me through each word. .
It was if each word had a special energy and power all their own that reached out to her.
She knew she had to book a session with me. (Sorry, Lisa---I didn't mean to steal a potential client!). The client was delightful and her reading went well---full of light, amazing shifts and healing.
I love when that happens.
But back to that testimonial.
The thing is, it took me quite awhile to sit down and write Lisa's testimonial. I kept apologizing to her for the delay.
I started and stopped several times. It must have taken me a month to get it finished.
Yet, I also know by now, that when I procrastinate there is usually a good reason.
Sometimes we need to wait for the energy to line up.
Both the energy within us and around us. The Universe knows when the best time is for something to be done. Which is why it's important to...
Trust your instincts!
Life goes better for us when we trust the process and wait until we are inspired to take action.
Too often, we take action prematurely. Leading with our head rather than our soul, we fail to trust our inner divine knowing.
This can lead to things going awry. Missteps and missed opportunities. We've all been there and done that.
Yet, the paradox is, the soul cannot make mistakes. No matter what we choose, we are learning and growing in spite of everything.
Still, if we want to maximize our chances for the highest outcome, trusting ourselves and the divine timing of the Universe is strongly recommended!
Of course,, the inspiration finally came in to help me write from my heart and my soul. I think the wait was worth it.
The words flowed through me and at least one other person felt the inspiration behind it and benefited greatly.
By the way, while I cannot and do not take credit for Lisa's psychic gifts, I am happy and proud to have been one of her teachers.
I am delighted I could be of service to Lisa---and all of my wonderful students. I love, respect and honor them more than words can say.
When we serve and help another person, we are serving and helping ourselves as well--although that should not be our motivation.
We are all One.
So, are you interested in reading that testimonial? If so, read on.
Oh, and get a reading with Lisa, she is truly amazing! Lisa reads at the Sedona store in Ward Center, Honolulu, every Monday from 10:30 to 3:30 pm. She is available for readings in person and by phone. Call 808-591-8010.
Testimonial for Lisa Zara
Clarity. Wisdom. Compassion. Truth. Healing. These are the words that come to mind when I am asked what to expect in a reading with psychic medium, Lisa Zara.
Come with your questions, problems and most of all, your intentions (what you wish to create in your life) and she will work with Spirit to help you. You see, Lisa is also blessed to have a deep and powerful connection to the angels and her spirit guides.
Exceptional psychic readers are rare. Few people understand that psychic readings require more than psychic ability. The reader should also have genuine empathy, kindness and unconditional love. In this way, a reading has the potential to become more than just the offering of information. It also becomes a healing. Such a reading can change your life.
Yes, psychic ability is of course, required. But what makes a reader truly exceptional in my opinion is their level of understanding on a deeper soul level-- their spiritual "maturity,” so to speak. Lisa has all of this and more. If you are looking for a reader to expertly and lovingly guide you, look no further.
